Construction Completion Proof for Income Tax Deduction

Proof for Income Tax Deduction

Is there any specific proof required for proving that the construction of a house property is complete? Is that proof required to be submitted along with the I-T return? Various local authorities have different certificates to certify the completion of the construction of house property. This certificate is the most authentic proof of completion of construction. In case that is not available for any reason, the proof of occupation by a certain date such as electricity bills, telephone bills, etc can also serve as a good proof of completion and occupation. The I-T Act does not require that this proof be submitted along with the return, but it is advisable to keep it ready- should they require it at a later date.
